Day 64

I have to split Paris up. We just did too much, and took too many pictures for it to be one post. Anyway, early Monday morning we took the tube to St. Pancras station to catch the Eurostar. The security at the Eurostar, pretty lax. Not that I would, but I could have easily had all sorts of firearms and explosives. But, the trip over there was fun! It was only about two hours and Calyn, Jenny, Calvin and I played all sorts of card games. I even taught them how to play poophead. But, I lost the game of poophead and now they won't play again, so that they call me the poophead forever. As soon as we got off the train in Paris, boarded a coach and drove out to Chartes. It was there that we realized how truly "friendly" frenchmen are, and how unwilling the french are to speak english. We also saw the beautiful Chartes Cathedral, and it really is one of the prettiest cathedrals I've had the chance to visit. Also, did I mention that I didn't have to wear a coat? Or, that I wore sunglasses? The weather was beautiful.

Supposedly the cloth Mary wore when she gave birth to Jesus...it was just old silk.

After Chartes, we drove back to Paris and checked into our hotel. Emma is the best roommate in the world, and it was so nice to have a room to put our backpacks in. And, a clean toilet. Seriously, just try to find one of those in Paris, I dare you. We ate dinner at a little Italian place(yes, we went to France and ate Italian food), and then hopped on the metro to the Eiffel Tower. The metro smells bad, and by bad I mean awful. But, I'm happy to say we navigated pretty well considering we don't speak any french. The Eiffel Tower was beautiful! It was enormous and every hour it sparkles! Sometimes I really can't believe that the picture in front of the Eiffel Tower is actually the Eiffel Tower, and not the replica in downtown Vegas haha.

Waiting for the Metro.

It smelled SO BAD.

Sparkling Eiffel Tower.

We ate crepes and cotton candy across the street from the Eiffel Tower and rode a little Carousel. Back at the hotel we got in our comfy beds, watched a little French TV and went to bed. It was just a fun day.

Cotton Candy!

I just love horses...
