Days 36, 37, 38, & 39

My Rome post was my 100th post. How weird is that? I started this thing in high school mostly to vent/complain/talk about my sad high school life and it's become a record of every random thought and momentous occasion I've had sine then. I hope that if my kids ever do read this, they'll at least think I'm a little funny, and not completely crazy. Anyway, let me catch you up.

Sunday I went to church and it was fantastic. It was also Valentine's Day which meant treats. And, Poppy gave me a sweet little Valentine. I taught a lesson in primary and it was about the coming of baby Jesus. I brought all of my scarves to church and we wore them over our heads, sat in the dark, and pretended to be shepherds waiting for the angel to come and tell us about baby Jesus. It was fun, and really I can't say that I love primary enough. I want to be in primary forever.

Monday we had a religion test so we stayed in the centre all day to study. Monday night we had a mandatory Valentine's Day Bash at the centre and it was a blast. Who wouldn't love a mandatory V-Day party where 34 girls and 4 boys are in attendance?

Tuesday was full of homework, rain, and laziness. I did go outside a few times to run some errands though.

Wednesday we actually did something. We got on a coach, drove to Blenheim Palace and took a tour. Churchill was born at Blenheim Palace, which is why it's important. Architecturally it's nice, but let's get real...Churchill is where it's at. I learned that I don't like tapestries much, that if you cough in a large marble room it is very very loud, and that when Queen Anne died, she was as wide as she was tall...tragic. In true Dorm 4 fashion, we grabbed a hot chocolate and caught a golf cart up to Pleasure Gardens and had some fun with our cameras. From there it was back to the coach and on to Oxford. Oxford's a little college town with lots of shops, lots of over-priced sweatshirts, and lots of colleges. We went to the original Ben's Cookies, Moo Moo's Milkshake shop, and Mickey D's. We also went to Christ Church College, a.k.a. Hogwarts. We walked up the steps that Neville lost his toad on, and sat at the house tables in the Great Hall for tea. Hogwarts is pretty fantastic. The coach ride home was just another 2 hours of me passed out with my mouth open. Cam, Katie, Calvin, and I finished the busy day with Nando's. Free refills are the best.
