Why I don't quote things.

I don't like to try to drop famous quotes, or really quotes of any kind, into everyday conversation. Mostly, because I almost always say the wrong thing. I can never remember the right words. For instance, I always thought that the All-American Rejects sang, "Swing, Swing on the tables of, my heart is pushed to a former love, etc." And I'm still convinced that the guy singing the Blue Song is saying, "I'm blue, if I were green I would die." Anyway, yesterday's Fast and Testimony meeting started off with a bang when the first speaker decided to quote a song. A country song to be exact, and I know they weren't the correct lyrics because in high school I went on a country radio kick, don't judge. He said, "I ain't as good as I was once, but I'm as good as I'll ever be, " and he said that it wasn't true and that we can always be better people, which is true and a very nice sentiment. Unfortunately my family and I were snickering so loud I couldn't hear the rest. See, the real words are, "I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was." It's a super provocative song about how Toby Keith used to be great in bed, but now he's old and only great once in bed. Awkward.
